We’ve been too excited to keep this news to ourselves, so you may have already heard on the grapevine that Fourth Wall is moving to a bigger space!
From Friday 4th August, Fourth Wall will be leaving its current location and moving to a larger space at 10-12 The Old High Street. We’ve loved our first home on The Old High Street. It has been a wonderful place to connect with our local community, however the layout of this new unit offers us more flexible space for projects, talks, exhibitions, workshops and events which we are very excited about! It will also allow all these things to happen alongside an open studio area where Sarah Lloyd can continue to work on her practice as an artist researcher in mental health.
This will mean that we can accommodate more of you! More exhibitions, more talks, more workshops and more events! We can’t wait to see what this means for our programme. We’re excited to hear your ideas, see your projects and involve more of the local community in the things that happen at Fourth Wall.
To enable us to get the new space ready, we will be closed throughout August. We hope to launch the new Fourth Wall at the beginning of September. This coincides nicely with our first year anniversary of becoming a CIC.
As a Community Interest Company (CIC) all funds we raise go straight back into the running of the space. We have a budget to make this move possible, however if you have been considering making a donation then we would be so appreciative if you would be able to contribute to our Go Fund Me page to help us get the new space ready. As with any move, there are so many costs involved from the boring but necessary ones (like deposits and cleaning) to the fun and exciting ones (like bespoke furniture and creative storage) that will make the space flexible and better to use.
We would also be incredibly grateful for any donations of materials. For example: White A4 paper and Card, HB Pencils, Scissors, Pritt Sticks, Black fineliners, Acrylic Paint, Masking Tape, Dymo Tape, Instax mini film. Please do get in touch if you might be able to donate any of these.
Watch this space, and follow along on our Instagram for updates and developments.
We can’t wait to see you all again at the new Fourth Wall Folkestone in September!
