USING THE SPACE
We’re always keen to work with our local community and we like to see our space being used for a variety of events, exhibitions and activities.
We welcome proposals for talks, workshops, events and exhibitions that would fit well with the ethos and aims of Fourth Wall Folkestone.
We specifically like to receive proposals which speak to one or more of these points:
- Has play, experimentation, research, learning, development and innovation at the forefront.
- Involves an element of gentle, disruptive activism which aims to create change, particularly within the mental healthcare system.
- Amplifies the voices of those with lived experience in the themes present.
- Has an element of community co-production involved.
- Explores the power and privilege we each hold for positive systemic change.

In the first instance, please read our ‘Using the Space’ info pack. This has lots of information about the space and the things we need you to consider when thinking about whether Fourth Wall is right for you.

If your project already has a budget to cover space hire, that’s great! Otherwise we operate on a donation/ pay what you can model.
To give you an idea of appropriate donations, these are our monthly running costs for the whole space:
£530 Rent
£600 Administration
£70 Phone, Internet and Web
£90 Utilities
£90 Consumables and Maintenance
£95 Insurance and Licensing Fees
£125 Accountancy and Software Fees
£1600 MONTHLY TOTAL
These figures are based on a three day week (opening hours 12:00 – 16:00), which is equivalent to £30.77 per hour. Please note this does not include the cost of any salaries, materials or other expenses.
