Since September 2023 What Cost Folks? have been working on a community action research project asking how the rising cost of living has impacted the mental wellbeing of the Folkestone community.
As part of this project the research team have been running art drop-ins, workshops and exhibitions at Fourth Wall Folkestone and in community cafes in Folkestone over the last year.
We’ve made artworks, collages, badges, written prescriptions for Folkestone, had creative discussions, made giant spreadsheets on walls, had fun with Lego Serious Play, enjoyed chats over a cuppa and shared the research process on social media and in exhibitions at Fourth Wall Folkestone.
This exhibition is the culmination of the research, so please come and see what we found out and what actions are needed to make Folkestone a better place for our community!
