Friday 1 March, 12:00-16:00
“I have been yarn bombing the bollard at the top of The Old High Street for over a year, maybe 2. Why? Because I can! Because it is fun and it provides me with a creative distraction from running a small creative business. I’m constrained in what I design & make for Folkestone Harbour Yarn by what is commercial. The bollard doesn’t have to be commercial in any way, and it can be whatever I want it to be!”
For this drop in yarn bombing workshop, Suzi will provide simple diagrams of how to knit, crochet or embroider feminist symbols. She’ll provide a range of materials (yarn, thread, fabric patches, felt squares, hooks & needles) plus some fabric pens so that people can leave a message. At the end of the day we will install all the messages and symbols made during the session onto the bollard.
