Entangled Roots

14 – 16 July 2023

A group of six women sat around a wooden table having a conversation. In the background you can see grass, cliffs and blue sky.

Extracts from Francine Hajilou’s recent work, ‘Entangled Roots: Wintering’ will be exhibited at Fourth Wall Folkestone, featuring a look at the essays, poetry and conversations that formed the project.

The work came out of a collaboration between Francine and Custom Food Lab, for Seeding The Commons Project. She led a series of winter walks for womxn of colour to focus on our relationships with nature and place and to consider how this informs our sense of belonging from a diasporic perspective.

On Sunday 16 July at 11am and 1pm, Francine Hajilou will be reading poetry, extracts of a personal essay, and conversations from her recent work Entangled Roots: Wintering. Each time slot will run for 20-30 mins.
