Michał Kamil Piotrowski is returning to Fourth Wall this Autumn to lead another series of his popular Beyond Text: Experimental Poetry Courses.

He will run a series of four classes on different types of innovative poetry which will take place 6-7.30pm on 13, 20, 27 September, and 04 October.

His mission is to show people through his workshops that anyone can be creative. The workshops focus on play and experimentation rather that introducing a rigid set of rules regarding writing.

This course is for people who are new to poetry, or people interested in writing poetry who want to branch out into experimental forms. The course will present various forms of innovative writing and help you create art you never thought possible. With a 30% lecture / 70% workshop structure there will be plenty to learn with your knowledgeable teacher but also plenty of pure writing fun! By the end of the course, you will have created a mini-portfolio of five innovative poems.

The course structure will be as follows:

13 September – Class 1 – Found Text and Erasure Poetry

20 September – Class 2 – Short-form Poetry

27 September – Class 3 – Interactive Poetry

4 October – Class 4 – Poetic Shapes and Objects

About the teacher:

Michał Kamil Piotrowski is a visual poet, text artist, and curator living and working in Folkestone, UK. He mostly writes experimental, visual, and technology-powered poetry. He enjoys making poetry interactive and he often works with found text. The themes he explores the most are technology, politics, love, and mental illnesses. His interactive book ‘The Cursory Remix’ (2021, Contraband Books) has been co-written by Google Translate.
