Help Shape the Future of Health Through Research

Better Research, Together!

The University of Kent Centre for Health Services Studies (CHSS) carries out high quality research into a wide range of health and social care issues at local, national and international levels.

What is Health and Care Research?

We conduct research in daily life to inform our understanding before we make a decision.

Health and care research is the same; it seeks answers to questions about the best options available and uses them to make decisions about improvements or changes which:

  • diagnose diseases earlier or more accurately
  • provide life-changing treatments
  • prevent people from developing conditions
  • improve health and care for generations to come
  • ensure everyone has a better quality of life

To see the wide range of projects CHSS are currently involved in, visit our current research webpage.

What to Expect on the Day

Members of the public can meet our friendly Better Research Together team (Amanda Bates, Helen McGregor and Joseph Price) and familiarise themselves with CHSS, exploring some of our work as one of the University’s largest research centres – who we are, what we do, and how our research has an impact on health and care services.

We want to enthuse the public about how and why they can and could get involved to help shape health and care research for maximum impact and to benefit all.
