Heidi’s upcoming exhibition, Unhindered AI, taking place from 27th to 30th October at Fourth Wall Folkestone, is a collaboration with “Mercedes Bunz ”, an author and professor of digital culture and society at Kings College London.
Unhindered AI explores the way AI systems process images and how the technology of machine learning enables computers to understand and generate human language.
Heidi Stokes, who completed an MA in Fine Art at Central St Martins in 2001, has been involved in various artistic projects. One of her notable works, ‘Swim to work,’ was a finalist for the BOC awards in 2005, and another piece called ‘Home running roundabout’ was purchased by a collector. Heidi has screened her work nationally and internationally, including at prestigious institutions such as the ICA, Barbican, and Watershed in Bristol. She has also been selected for several film festivals recognized by Bafta. In 2017, her film ‘For Ray’ was shortlisted for the Animation NOW finalists and was showcased on the Pompidou Centre website as part of the “MON ŒIL” series.
