A Free Clothes Swap hosted by Kirstyn Brook & Odd Socks Folkestone
Wed 08 Oct – Sun 12 Oct
12:00-16:00
We’re just a group of mates,
standing in front of a high street,
asking them to take our stuff.
We organise a free clothes swap for Folkestone, everyone can help themselves to free clothes. We have given away THOUSANDS of items, and we cant wait to do it again!
How it started:
We started chatting and realised we all had clothes that didn’t fit in our homes and it was stressing us out. So we decided to hire a space, pile in all the stuff and run the least profitable business ever. EVERYTHING IS FREE!
Clothes stop fitting for so many reasons, for me health changes and multiple surgeries. For others becoming parents or carers, for others changes to style or taste, work, day-to-day life mean items you once loved no longer work. We run this to help people let go of stuff that no longer works and find stuff that does.
It’s good for the planet, good for the wallet, and good for your wardrobe.
Donate clothes, swap clothes or just take clothes!
This event is for ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE!!
This Clothes Swap is run entirely by volunteers. If you are able to support the Clothes Swap financially, please head over to Kirstyn’s website to make a donation.
Or if you would like to help out in some other way, get in touch!
This exhibition forms part of Still Sick Of It: a multidisciplinary series of creative events, talks, exhibitions and workshops exploring Women’s Health and diet culture.
Still Sick Of It is kindly supported by Creative Folkestone and The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust.
