Many people have approached us over the years about being a volunteer and while we’ve been open to this, we are aware of how important it is to pay people fairly. To ensure everyone was gaining something before we offered it as an option we wanted to make sure we thought this through thoroughly.
We believe there is so much we can offer volunteers in return for their time. We also realise how important it is to accept the help of the community and keep building the space together. Volunteers could make a vital difference to our work.
We are looking for lovely, enthusiastic and friendly humans to welcome visitors to FWF, help with general enquiries, perhaps assist with workshops and events etc. We just ask that you are confident in communicating with the public.
If you’d like to:
- Gain public-facing experience in an exciting, ever changing creative setting.
- Meet new people and engage with our lovely community.
- Develop and share your knowledge of art, mental health, community and activism.
Then we’d love to connect with you!
In return we can discuss what might be of use to you. For example access to studio space or free places on selected workshops etc. Endless tea and coffee is of course always available and reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Although events can happen throughout the week, our main opening hours are Fri-Sun, 12-4pm. Availability on at least one of these days per month is essential. The amount of commitment time is flexible. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 as lone working may be involved.
How To Apply
If you are interested in this opportunity, please send a paragraph or two to info@fourthwallfolkestone.co.uk with why you would like to volunteer for FWF. Let us know about any work, volunteering or additional experiences and interests you think might be relevant. We want to ensure we are a good fit for one-another and support you to have an enjoyable and valuable time volunteering with us. We are so excited to hear from you!
